One Year Later – From the Desk of the Executive Director

We are nearly halfway through 2021 and so much has changed from where we were at this time in 2020.  Last year, there was so much we didn’t know and, while there are still a myriad of unknowns as it relates to COVID-19, the vaccine and what the future will hold, we all have the hope that the future looks bright.

One year ago, we were mourning the loss of the things in our lives that are comfortable and familiar.  We were hunkered down in our homes, our schedules clear of extra-curricular activities and adjusting to the novelty of Zoom meetings and get-togethers.  Today, we are venturing out more, allowing our calendars to begin filling up and yearning for the personal connection with our closest friends and family.

So much has changed in the last year.  At CMN, we adjusted and juggled campaign dates and continued to support our partners to the best of our ability, even when they weren’t actively fundraising.  Through all of these changes, one thing has remained the same – our partners have continued to be 100% dedicated to raising funds to help local children and families.  They dug deep, worked harder than they ever have before and found creativity that some of them weren’t aware they even had!  They did this all to make sure that every child that is treated by KU Pediatrics gets the best care.

We are proud to have such amazing partners and look forward to being in the trenches with each and every one of you again this year!
