Children’s Miracle Network Helping Happy Bottoms
Nearly 1 in 2 families with young children do not have enough diapers to keep their child clean, dry and healthy. Since 2009, Happy Bottoms has been on a mission to change that statistic by covering the amount of diapers Kansas City families are short each month (known as the diaper gap).
While that may seem like a tall order, they do it by collaborating with over 70 local agencies and hospitals in the metro area to get diapers in the hands of families who need them most. Children’s Miracle Network is proud to sponsor the Happy Bottoms program on the KU Medical Center campus through the Bundles of Joy program. This program provides mothers and their newborns a one-time distribution of 75 diapers and information about the Happy Bottoms monthly agency program. The early access to diapers offered by Bundles of Joy can mean earlier access to other critical services the family may need.
This program is especially important at times like this, when families are stretching every dollar to make ends meet. These families often must spend less on necessities like food in order to pay for diapers for their child – a decision no family should ever have to make.
Fundraising by Children’s Miracle Network partners and events helps support programs like Happy Bottoms on the KU Medical Center campus every day. These programs make a direct impact on families and children right here in our local community. Thank you to all our partners and donors for making programs like this possible!
