Costco’s CMN Balloon Campaign Soars!
Costco’s culture of giving back to the communities in which they operate is one of the many reasons why they have been such a dedicated and successful CMN partner for the last 36 years. This year’s fundraising campaign in May was no different.
Although faced with the challenges of the current economic climate, employees across all five locations in the Kansas City area stayed true to their best practice of simply asking every member to donate and were met with a wave of generosity resulting in $140,000 raised for KU Medical Center. They also put their own “fun” in fundraising with theme days throughout the month to add an extra touch of awareness and employee spirit. Special thanks to Georgia Rodeen of the Independence Costco, who raised a remarkable $3,500 through the sponsorship sales of CMN jumbo balloons purchased by local businesses.
Continuing a now four-year tradition cashiers worked to reach different fundraising levels and were awarded colorful badge ribbons when those goals were met. Congratulations to our top two cashiers: Kathy Kennedy from North KC Costco, who raised an incredible $10,060 and Jonathan Epps from Overland Park Costco who raised an outstanding $11,514.66. Jonathon was also awarded the “You Rock Award,” at our All-Partner Rally in March for his fundraising efforts throughout his time at Costco. He has collectively raised over $68,820 for CMN over the last 7 years! An incredible accomplishment.
Thank you, Costco for another great campaign for the kids!
