Walmart and Sam’s Clubs – Reaching New Heights with Round Up!
The associates at Walmart and Sam’s Club have been working tirelessly since March to ensure that every household is fully stocked with the essentials we need. And even though they continue to work around the clock to keep their shelves full and their own employees healthy, they were just as determined to put every ounce of their energy into making sure our CMN families are taken care of by pulling out all the stops during their annual fundraising campaign.
Beginning on June 22, every location began asking their customers to join them in their support of the families at KU Pediatrics by asking for donations at the registers. Customers could donate any amount and were even given the opportunity to round up their purchase for the first time this year – both at the register and when placing their orders online.
In addition to the donations they were raising from their generous customers, associates planned a variety of events for their employees to participate in and have a little fun during this busy time. From dressing in tutus, to water balloon fights to stuffed animal adoptions, the stores have gotten very creative in how they are raising funds to help the kids! Even our friends in the Transportation & Distribution Centers are working hard raising funds from employee fundraisers all year long as all of our 66 locations are competing to see who can be the top fundraising location in the Kansas City Market!
While this year has come with exciting new elements like round up and online giving, there have been many activities that the associates have not been able to do because of the COVID contact restrictions. But, the creativity and determination to make sure that every child seen at KU Pediatrics can continue to get the best care has, once again, led this amazing partner to an amazingly successful campaign!
