Extra Life United Dominated by KC Area Gamers

For the second year, the Extra Life United (ELU) event was held virtually on April 23-25, 2021. While we miss the excitement of energy of the in-person event, the virtual format allows many more gamers to participate in activities and tournaments. ELU participants compete for money that will be donated to their preferred CMN Hospital.

KC Heartland gamers always make a strong showing at ELU, and this year was no different. “Eldorian” placed 16th in Fall Guys for a prize of $750 and “RufiOOHHH” brought home $1,500 for a 13th place finish in Chess. Arguably the most competitive tournament of Extra Life United 2021 was Rocket League, which was dominated by the Missouri Western State University varsity Esports athletes “The Animal” and “Jnosk”. They were undefeated, bringing home combined winnings of $5,000 for kids treated at KU Medical Center. Including additional fundraising, Kansas City Extra Lifers raised and won $8,438 during ELU!

We are grateful for all the gamers who represent KU Medical Center in competition and in the community! If you want to learn more about how to play games and heal kids at KUMC, visit extra-life.org.
